writer. producer. comedian. squirrel.
Hello and welcome.
Cara Pomanti is a writer, producer and performer from Toronto, based in Los Angeles.
Cara recently worked as a Staff Writer on the second season of Your Friends & Neighbors, the upcoming drama series starring Jon Hamm for AppleTV+, created and showrun by Jonathan Tropper. She was also the Writers’ Assistant on the first season. Before that, she was an Associate Producer on the dramedy series Slip, created by and starring Zoe Lister-Jones for Roku and Dakota Johnson’s Tea Time Pictures. Prior to Slip, she was Director’s Assistant on back-to-back seasons of the sci-fi drama See for AppleTV+. She continues to build her portfolio of scripts and produce comedy shorts, both in front of and behind the camera.
Cara graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University’s (formerly Ryerson) Radio and Television Arts School of Media, where she concentrated in Screenwriting and Producing. There, she was the Producer of the university’s official comedy troupe, RiOT. She spent her final year producing a comedy-reality web series and working in TV development in Los Angeles.
She has whittled her social media presence down to Instagram and a blog, where she enjoys having conversations with herself. Her elderly spirit has settled into The Golden Years of quarter-life with hobbies like “questioning the meaning of existence”, sketch & stand-up comedy, neglecting the Rule of Threes, and folding paper cranes.
